I'm back on my corporate network, and was able to post a reply in another thread (and here).

Did Motorola change something?

I'm posting this from a work machine. The only thread I have seen this same problem was on the Tips and Tricks thread just 60 minutes ago... gives me the same error.

I'm using firefox 14.0.1 Funnelcake on a 2002 XP Professional SP3 Hewlett Packard AMD64 machine...

We're continuing to look at this. We have someone in this situation helping us get logs from his PC.

It's possible I will be asking for more volunteers to do that -- stay tuned!

It's been working for me again since September 24, 2012.  I have no idea if something changed on my corporate network, or on the motorola side, but it works again now.

p.s.- I would have rather had this stay broken and received ICS on my Photon 4G, instead of my phone being banished to gingerbread forever.

  1. If you reproduce this on a laptop at work, are you able to reproduce the problem on the same laptop while not connected to a work VPN?

  2. What browser were you using when this happened? Does it occur when you use a different browser?

If it happens when you are not at work (or not connected to your office via a VPN), please provide some information about how you are connected to the Internet.

My answers as follows:

1.Yes, it never works on my laptop (Windows 7 Professional 64 bit). Doesn't matter if connected to VPN or not or if I use Chrome or IE9. I always get the error on the laptop.

2.On the laptop I always get the error with Chrome and IE9. On my private PC (Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit), it always works when I use Chrome or IE9. The laptop is running Symantec endpoint protection, the private PC is running Microsoft security essentials.

Windows Firewall is enabled on both machines.

Bottom line:

It never works on the laptop, no matter if i use my private Internet connection at home, with or without VPN or if i use the office Internet connection with or without VPN. I tried both Ethernet cable and WiFi connections.

It always works on my private PC, no matter which browser I use, even on the very same internet connection than the laptop, on which it doesn't work.

I am getting the same issue when posting from a residential location.

IE9 version 9.0.8112.16421

Chrome version 22.0.1229.94

I'm not going through a VPN tunnel, I'm just behind a standard ADSL router on plusnet in the UK (i.e. bog standard BT 21CN implementation).

This happens on my Windows 7 x64 desktop and my Asus Nexus 7.

I come here to flag an issue with a phone and end up assisting with troubleshooting a broke forum, inspires confidence.
