The PSREF

2018-07-04, 22:25 PM

is there a standard decision making process on what stays on the PSREf and what doesn't?

for the benefit of anyone reading this posts and forme - i'll assume i know nothing about the main puposes of the PSREF apart from it being a current catalogue of all models that are actively supported (i.e. parts and sofware wise?)

I note the Lenovo Yoga 910-13ikb and the 900-13isk are no longer in the PSREF.

WHile i know its only an ideapad - these models were the drawcards to every one of your tech shows.

the removl of this 2 models seem premature with no explanation.

Well -as I'm still unclear of what the implications of a removal would mean i guess it's premature to assume that an announcement/explanation of the removal is even required.

can someone please tell me why certain models are removed - the 2 models i mentioned are skylake and kaby lake models and are the crown jewel in your yoga series for that generation.

is this tied to the numerous thermal issues that has plagued the model - i know i'm inssinuating here but if it is so - i believe anyone who's spent a pretty penny on these models deserve the headsup.

it's ironic that the X1C was recalled for a couple of loose screws but the issues plagued by the thermal designs and others were never even dealt with in the same or a portion of such grace as the the X1C

Both models you mention are still in the psref page.  Use the "Withdrawn" button in the lower left:  http://psref.lenovo.com/

Just my opinion but probably the 920 replaced the 910 which replaced the 900?  They keep the most recent ones on the psref or only ones that are still being sold?  Older models are put on the withdrawn list?

that was my initial thought until i noticed oseveral lower ranked models that are were not taken off.

I can't seem to make sense of it unless its a parts shprtage maybe but then again those ideapads aren't really customised in terms of it's tech make-up...

i mean the yoga 710 skylake is one example..

not to mention the AMDs and celeron powered models....

maybe i've just got too much time - i mean the psref seems to be some kinda of bible for all current lenovo gear but if i were really after the specs - i'd go straight for the HMM.
