You can take any
DDR4-1866/2133 RAM.

I would check the built in one and by the same or you buy two new DDR4 2133 RAM and replace the built in.

This helped me too

Hi Kris,

on my Lenovo IdeaCentre Y700-34ISH, i7-7700 3.6 GHZ Kaby Lake, the built-in 16 GB DDR(2 x 8 GB) are from Samsung (see the exact description in the attached jpeg). Qustions for an upgrade:

1. If I don't find anymore the built-in type on the market, what specs should have the new 2 x 8 GB DDR: what brand do you recommend, what frequency (does it help if I take > 2133MHz like e.g. 2400 or 2800?), what CL (I saw from CL13 till CL16 available), Quad Channel, Dual Channel, Simple Channel? What else should I consider?

Which one would you choose from the following website:

http://www.cel.ro/memorii/tip-memorie-i136/ddr4/capacitate-i565/16gb/4a-1

2. Having the built-in 2 x 8 GB DDR, can I upgrade for example with another 2 x 16 GB DDR for a total of 48 GB?

3. In which slots should I mount the new ones and in which the old Samsung ones?

Thank you in advance for your support!

I bought a Y900 that came with Samsung Dimms. I bought these GSkills and they have worked perfectly with the 2 original 8gb Samsung dimms. Now have 32gb Total. I think I paid around $60 for mine after a Newegg credit I had due to a problem from a separate event. MAN memory has gone up so much! I run GSkill in several computers and have never had a problem to date.

Leave the Samsung Dimms installed where they were from the factory, add new Dimms in the 2 open slots. Easy Peasy.
