Can I upgrade my ideacentre T540 with 1T SSD

2020-01-25, 15:13 PM

I just bought an Ideacentre T540, it's all good but the storage is a bit small, just 237G.

So I want to add more storage. I check the specification and users manual:   it come with was M.2 SSD.And there is only one slot for M.2. So i have to use SATA connection. Then I check again, the storage drive seems designed for 3.5" HDD plus the specification say: Up to 512 GB SSD or 1 TB HDD with 256 GB SSD storage. It come with 237G SSD storage, does it means i can only put an additional 1T HDD on it?

Hi VictorWY!

Welcome to the Community Forums!

We've checked the Ideacentre T540 and it shows under storage : Dual storage drives: Up to 1 TB M.2 PCIe SSD and up to 2 TB HDD

The HDD tray can support a 2.5" SSD however you'll be needing an adaptor to plug it in on the motherboard.

Hi Jerry_Lenovo I'm trying to do the same but I can't figure out how to mount the 2.5ssd in the HDD tray. I've tried with and without adapters but I can't get anything to line up. Can you explain how this should mounted?
