Cannot start BIOS in Lenovo Legion T530 desktop

2020-09-12, 21:58 PM

Hello,

My Lenovo Legion T530-28APR Ryzen 5 came with DOS as OS. It was possible to start the Bios by pressing F1 while booting. While trying to change the boot sequence in order to install a new OS from USB I also changed a setting regarding OS being UFEMI compatible (I think Windows 10 was mentioned in this setting as well). After changing this setting the computer no longer boots to DOS and pressing F1 no longer starts the BIOS. The monitor remains black but the PC seems to start. Any ideas?Thank you!

Try removing the RTC/Coin cell battery, leave it out for a minute or so before re-inserting it, and then try booting again.   See page 44 of the Hardware Maintenance Manual for the steps to remove the coin cell battery.

I was coming coming to the same conclusion, yet hoping there would be jumper somewhere I'll give it a try. Thanks for the reply!
