If you can, use a plastic pry tool to separate the back casing from the front, before you begin pulling up on the back casing. This way you avoid breaking any clips on the casing.
If you need any help or pictures let me know and I can post some with some descriptions.

Hi, did you try the upgrade? I'm thinking of trying it also but im not sure about the power supply, motherboard etc being compatible....Thanks

i7-6700 should work without problems.

i7-7xxx will not work, because BIOS does not support it.

 

Keep in mind that i7-6700 will work quite hot and loud on a stock cooler. There is a cooling mod thread somewhere on this forums.
