I am surprised this is not part of FAQ!

Thank you for the response! I have a few questions. How did you uninstall the current Nvidia drivers?

I believe the issue is with one specific driver from Nvidia.

I agree it is some errant driver. I'd System restore a few weeks before the issue, Run SFC and DSIM. I am running the latest Nvidia Studio drivers with no Realtek issues.. My batch file for SFC and DISM: C: pause sfc /scannow pause DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth pause DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth pause DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Just download the driver from Lenovo support page, and double click to install. It will uninstall current driver.

Just a quick update, my computer crashed with the same problem today. I have installed the Lenovo Nvidia drivers, and (cross my fingers) hopefully this fixes it from now on. I will keep this thread open in case this hasn't fixed it. Thank you for all your help!

Hello @jatgm, I have same problems. It looks that updating Realtek Audio Driver does not solve the problem. In your 8/28 message, you said you will install Lenovo's Nvidia driver. What is the result so far? Thanks!

Hi!

Thank you for commenting. I am not 100% sure if it is the fix or not, because this bug happens so infrequently that I cannot tell for sure if it is the fix or not. I would give it another month or two before confidently saying that this is the fix. I would recommend using Lenovo graphics drivers anyways because it seems like it is the fix for other people.

However I can say that between now and the 8/28 post I have been crash free :D

Also, I would recommend running DDU before using Lenovo graphics drivers, because there might be bits and pieces from drivers that might be the problem. You can find a tutorial online on how to use DDU, its a free tool that can cleanly and fully uninstall any drivers (i didnt do this but i regret not doing it)

@jatgm, Thanks for quick response. What is DDU? Where to get it? Thanks!

Hello! DDU is a utility that uninstalls graphics drivers cleanly. This tutorial teaches you how to use it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkuQVnZSJFo

The download link is here:

https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

It's not necessary but it makes sure that all bits of the old driver are gone so that they don't interfere with the Lenovo drivers. This program is trusted by a lot of people (and also youtuber JayzTwoCents uses it in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3puInnaG5ok)
