my desktop Legion Tower 7i Gen 8 (Intel) with RTX 4070 Ti going to be deliver this Monday.

Now I read the forum and there mix information.

I already have CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 RAM 64 Gb 5600 MHz that I would like to install. It’s 4x16 Gb.

With the new bios update, will it run at 5600 MHz with 4x16 Gb?

guest20460 have you received your new computer and were you able to try your Corsair RAMs on all four slots, how did it go? There is no assurance to the full speed of your RAM when using all four RAM slots on your computer because that depends on your CPU, there's no bad trying but limit your expectations because you are installing an after-market RAM which is not on the list of recommended compatible RAMs and distribution if frequency depends on the limitations of your CPU does please check the return or exchange policy of the store where you bought the RAMs from in case it will not work as you expected. 

NewLegionUser1 will be on standby while OP tests his on-hand Corsair RAMs to check if there'll be no issues with the upgrade.

I have receive it and try it with orignal 2 RAM.

with the new BIOS update version O56UKT21A I still get 4600 MHz.

here my bios info and setting i try.

forcing it to 5600 MHz is not a good idea as it will not boot up to windows.

i also try the Corsair 4x16GB and same result.

the spec mention up to 5600 MHz. Is false advertising to say it can only do 4600Mhz even on RAM that came with it.

im not happy about this.

I have the Legion Ultimate Support.

shouldn’t I receive on site next business day support?

You can request Legion Ultimate On-site Support only if there's a confirmed faulty part on your device that can easily be replaced via onsite service.

Upgrades beyond recommended compatible parts need to go through your Lenovo Authorized Service Center for compatibility validation and recommendations for your planned upgrade.

I got the same PC as you 3 weeks ago. It's a beast! Once you get past the RAM difficulty.

Yes it will! Just by updating BIOS and changing set up with XMP then manually changing speed to 5,600 mhz. You can only have that speed in slot 2 and 4 though, and you can only use 2 sticks! It's to do with the processor apparently, not Lenovo. Using 4 sticks will decrease the speed automatically.

Did you manage to get the higher speed with the Corsair RAM? 

I was able to upgrade the speed of the stock ram at 5,600 (with the single stick of 16 GB that they sent me :/ ), but like you I tried to upgrade it all. I also bought Corsair Vengeance 5,600 mhz / 36 CL and unfortunately my PC did not boot !! Disappointing.

So I would like to know if you succeeded if making this RAM work? I would like to make it work, I got a really good price for these 2 x 16 gb sticks....

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Legion Tower 7i Gen 8. It's great to hear that you've managed to get the RAM running at 5600 MHz using only two slots.

As for the Corsair Vengeance 5600 MHz / 36 CL RAM, it's unfortunate to hear that your PC did not boot. As I mentioned earlier, using after-market RAMs that are not on the list of recommended compatible RAMs might cause such issues.

I would recommend checking the return or exchange policy of the store where you bought the RAMs in case it does not work as you expected.

Thank you for your response! I didn't, because Lenovo only put a single stick of 16 GB (instead of 2 x 8 GB :( ) in my T7 so I can't check for sure but what I read is that you can only get 5600 mts using 2 slots only. I managed to get 5600 mts in slot 2 with my single stick. Have also tried in slot 1 and it didnt work.

Could you let me know the link for the recommended RAM for this PC so I can upgrade it? Does going above 5600 mts void the warranty?
