Power supply on C530

I have bought a C530 with i5-8400, 16 GB RAM and RTX 2060 6GB. The power supply is only 350W. Will this be enough? Is it possible to buy a bigger PSU that fits this case?

Re: Power supply on C530

Hi cbp03,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I am confident that this would be enough for the specifications provided to you with the 350W PSU as it came all out of the box. As specified for your machine's package here in the parts lookup, then it was also certified and tested for the same parts and configuration you currently have now. RTX 2060 consumes max of 160W only.

If there is any need to upgrade the PSU, then a compatible PSU listed below can be an option as offered by OEM.

PN 00PC769 (FRU,PWR_SUPPLY,100-240Vac,Y730_Cube 450W ES)

PN 00PC777 (100-240Vac,ATX 450 ES7)

PN 00PC751 (200-240Vac, multi atx 400W PSU)

PN 00PC786 (200-240Vac 400W PRC CB KC)

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Re: Power supply on C530

Thank you for your thorough answer! What about in the long run? Will it be able to last and what could the consequences of PSU failure be?

Re: Power supply on C530

Hi cbp03,

Greetings.

There are same build machine that was provided with 280W that still goes well. With proper electrical precautions and use would give longer usage aside from the Autosense features of the PSU on this units that adds protection.

Autoshutdown features on modern PSU enchance protection of the machine but having extra AVR or power surge protectors would help specially if your location is prone to such external events.

You can decide more on changing your PSU perhaps after your warranty with the manufacturer expires as OEM guarantees performance and service during the period of the terms.

Regards
