G5 Tower: Memory voltage difference with upgrade

Hi, i recenty bought a lenovo ideacentre g5 with 8 GB of ram and i wanted to upgrade to 16 GB, i bought a corsair 8 gb ram and when installing it i noticed that the slot on the mb has writed on 1.2v and the corsair ram says 1.35v. The pc seems to ork normally but i want to know if this voltage difference can do damge or it simply runs on 1.2v instead of 1.35 and works normally? sorry for my english and thanks to everyone who wants to help me.

Hello @vincyp,

 

Welcome to the Community Forums.

 

1.2v is the base voltage for DDR4. If your machine is already running on 3200mhz chances are it's already running on 1.35v.

Kindly post your MTM (ex 82B10000FR) so that other members can join in the discussion and offer solutions.

unfortunally the raminstalled is 2933 MHz UDIMM and i ordered a corsair 3000 MHz (DIMM) after insstalling it the frequency dropped to 2133 MHz and after removing it (the corsair one) now sits on 2667 MHz instead of the original 2933, but if i know that i can safely run with the corsair one (the 1.35 v on 1.2 slot) i accept the low frequency but i want 16 GB ram only if that volt difference does not damage my pc.

I suggest you call Corsair tech support, which in my experience, one of the best in the business.  If it were the correct memory, it would run at the same data rate, perhaps they can exchange it.
