T530-28ICB -- upgrade/add 3000 mhz RAM?

2019-02-28, 15:43 PM

Does the BIOS allow for XMP or manually adjusting for 3000 mhz RAM? Looking to upgrade from the stock 8gb Ramaxel 2666 RAM to Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) 3000 mhz. Can this be done without slowing the ram to 2666 mhz?

Hi CutItDown,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checking with the system BIOS for T530-28ICB for MTM 90JL006GUS do not show advance option for OC tweaking the XMP profile. It is expected that this is handled by the firmware to automatically set memory configuration to clock down to the lower settings.

Product specification shows 32GB max, UDIMM, DDR4-2666, two 288-pin DIMM sockets and parts lookup only offers DDR4 2666 or 2400 UDIMM for both 90JL and 90JU models.

3000 Mhz is not offered as compatible commodity from the parts lookup page although some 3rd party sellers may offer it. We cannot guarantee full functionality and support but we do expect it to clock down. Modding the BIOS is not recommended due to possible bricking.

I hope this helps answer your query.
