Upgrading RAM on the Lenovo Legion T7 34IMZ5

2021-04-04, 7:20 AM

Hi, I'm about to recieve the above model with the specified numer of 90Q8007BMW. Apparently this model only comes with one 16gb stick om ram. Of course I want to get dual channel, either 2x8 or 2x16. What can I do? All help would be appreciated.

Hello @farbrorjoakim,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Based on the PSREF page of the machine it has four DDR4 UDIMM slots, dual-channel capable.

With support for up to 128GB DDR4-2933. However the manual does not indicate which of the slots or if all of the slots are dual channel capable.

Parts page: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/rs/en/products/desktops-and-all-in-ones/legion-series/legion-t7-34imz5/90q8/90q8007bmw/parts/display/model

Hope this helps.
Regards,

Hello @farbrorjoakim,

Sorry for the late reply.

You should be able to find the part numbers for the compatible ram in the link below: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/rs/en/products/desktops-and-all-in-ones/legion-series/legion-t7-34imz5/90q8/parts/display/compatible

You can reach out to our service team for assistance with parts if you aren't able to purchase them from the site.

Regards,

Jack_Lenovo1

Ok, I have no idea what to get. Several brands are mentioned the when it comes to RAM but no purchase link. I really don't understand why any company sells such expensive computers when single channel memory. I'll probably send it back.

Hi!

Only place I found it was ebay: Genuine Lenovo 5M30V06841 UDIMM,16GB,DDR4,3200,Samsung | eBay

But its probably cheaper to buy Corsair 4x8Gb and sell the 16gb on ebay :)

I havent got mine yet so I dont know if it will work :)

Search best buy for SKU 6448612.  Insert in the slot closest to the CPU, and then skip a slot and then insert into the next slot.   Mine came with 2 sticks and that is where they were positioned.  That memory will work.  Sell your single stick, its too hard to find an exact match.

**edit.. oh you are in sweden.. just search for the model:  CMW32GX4M2E3200C16

I ordered these today after buying a set that didn't work.

They arrive in 2 days.

Hopefully these work!

I have now installed it and I must say my games runs much smoother now. I can do ULTRA on everything in Call of Duty and lie around 100FPS.

3dmark went from 14000 to 15000 points. So defenetly worth the dual channel upgrade!
