Y700-34ISH Desktop (ideacentre) Help with SSD

Hello i have a Y700-34ISH Desktop Gaming Tower and i was thinking of upgrading my PC

Current Specs:

-Intel i7 6700 @ 3.40 GHz

-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

-8GB RAM DDR4

-MAINBOARD: LENOVO SKYBAY

And i would like to get an SSD: Corsair Force MP510 with NVMe compatibility but i dont know anything about this motheboard, i've talked to support and they tell me to refer to the manual, BUT THERE'S NOTHING, i just would like to know if i can just plug it in there or if it even is compatible with the MB.

Re: Y700-34ISH Desktop (ideacentre) Help with SSD

Hi Gonna,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The machine can only use an SSD SATA or SSHD as confirmed by PSREF.

We hope this helps.

Regards,

Re: Y700-34ISH Desktop (ideacentre) Help with SSD

Hi Gonna,

Thanks for writing back.

The system board contains only one 1x16 PCIe port which is used for the GPU of the machine.

You can choose to use the GPU port for an SSD, however this will limit your machine graphical capabilities.

You can also use this link to view a similar discussion which may be helpful for this question.

Hope this helps.
