BSoD after installing Windows 10 Pro

2021-01-16, 17:13 PM

Hello everybody,

On December 2020 I bought Lenovo Legion C7i 15. From the first time I installed Windows 10 Pro, I got BSoD (Blue Screen of Death) errors (CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED) .
I installed the OS more than 10 times but the BSoD still occurs. Because I thought it's an issue about the laptops hardware, tried to fully analyze my system with Lenovo Diagnostic Tool but everything seems to be perfect, not a single error was showed after 10 hours of analyzing.

I tried to install the drivers manually, tried to update windows but nothing helped.
I installed operating systems like windows and linux many times before. There is a less possibility to make a mistake by installing.

My laptop Specs:

  • Processor -  Intel Core i7-10875H Prozessor (8 Cores, 16 Threads, 16 MB Cache, 5,10 GHz)
  • Memory  -  32 GB DDR4 3.200 MHz (2 x 16 GB SODIMM)
  • First Hard Drive  -  1 TB SSD, M.2 2280, PCIe, NVMe, TLC
  • Display  -  39,6 cm (15,6") FHD (1.920 x 1.080), IPS, HDR, non-reflecting, 500 cd/m², 144 Hz, 100% AdobeRGB, Touchfunction
  • GPU -  NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER Max-Q Design, 8 GB GDDR6, 256 Bit
  • Camera -  720p-HD-Kamera, 2,8 mm
  • Microphone  -  Array-Mikrofon
  • Keyboard-  RGB-keyboard
  • Chipset  -  Intel HM470 Chipsatz
  • Wireless  -  Wireless-AX (Wi-Fi 6) (2x2) WLAN, Bluetooth 5.0 oder höher

Need your suggestions.

Thanks in advance

BSoD after installing Windows 10 Pro

2021-01-19, 13:05 PM
Hi, a quick suggestion would be to re-download the windows iso as it may be corrupted and use a different USB stick to install windows. Report back if you still get the error. Also do restore BIOS to factory defaults

I am a volunteer in this forum and also a lenovo user. If i helped you, click on the kudos button!

Re:BSoD after installing Windows 10 Pro

Hello, sorry for being late, thanks for the reply.

I have bought 2 new USB sticks since I got the BSoD and installed more than 7 times bootable usb for being sure but the issue was still there. I'm now abroad and decided today to give it to lenovo service, bought my fly ticket only for this issue but today I got no errors. On lenovo drivers and software page was 4 softwares to install but today i saw that Lenovo Vantage is deleted from there. Is it possible that the lenovo vantage causes the error?

What kind of NVME drive do you have?  I couldn't get any Inland professional (Phison E12) drives to work the drive kept disappearing on reboot (or random).  Ended up running out and getting another Samsung.
