Can't find ssd type?

2018-11-28, 8:00 AM

Hey there, I got my hands on the Ideapad 330 17ICH GTX and it only came with 1Tb HDD and I had my mind set on installing an SSD. I did come across another forum with someone with a similar laptop and question however his model came with 128gb SSD already so I was a bit unsure if that had really applied to me. My model is 81FL0003US. Hopefully someone can help lol.

Right click on the start button.

Go to "Disk Management".

In the bottom part you'll have your disks listed as "disk 0, disk 1..." and so on.

if you right click on the disk (not the volumes!) and go to "properties" the make and model of your drive will be in the "general" tab.

According to the spec sheet you do have NVME and SATA ports available, so you should be to use them.

Please be aware that some laptops allow only one drive to be used at a time (e.g. both drives occupy the same bay).

Please refer to the maintenance manual for further details.

Hi and welcome to the forums.

I wasn't 100% sure if you are asking what your laptop came with OR what was compatible.

If you are trying to find out what your laptop came with you could use parts lookup below and enter your serial number OR you can also look in device manager if you are using Windows.

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/partslookup/

Per psref below were the specs of the drives that were compatible.

Hi there, thank you. Sorry I had mean’t what type of ssd could I install. So are the three compartments available to use? I was thinking of using the Hdd slot for an Samsung Evo 860 ssd, I heard that’s possible.
