Can't pair the Xbox One controller to integrated Xbox Wireless Adapter on Windows 10

2020-04-05, 9:56 AM

Specs: Legion Y720-15IKB, Windows 10 Pro 1909 (build 18363.752)

My laptop happens to have an integrated XBox wireless adapter and I am trying to connect  my controllers (2 of them) to it.

It connects using Bluetooth, but I experience issues during games, think it is connected to Bluetooth issues.

That's why I am trying to connect via Xbox wireless protocol specifically.

Alas, my controller is not discoverable when I try to connect to it. My steps are:

  1. Open Settings > Devices
  2. Click on Add Bluetooth or other device button
  3. Click on Everything else button in dialog
  4. Power up the controller (slow led blinking) and press the sync button on controller (fast led blinking)

Nothing happens: controller is not being discovered.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Quick update. I found relevant posts on this Forums, and neither of them provided the solution.

Just to clarify, I tried every method official Xbox site gives, didn't work.

I have the Xbox wireless adapter visible in devices manager, like this:

I can see it in Airplane mode settings:

But it is not shown on devices screen:

Nor here:

This is an old post, but I was having the same trouble, and what worked for me was actually adding from the "Add a device" of this older style control panel menu instead of the awful Windows 10 menu. Not sure if that's what you meant you tried, but if not, give it a shot. It worked right away for me after an hour of screwing around trying to make it work with the other menu.
