Firmware files (*.fd) can be decompressed and edited with UEFI Tool: https://github.com/LongSoft/UEFITool/releases
The problem is that any such modified file will fail the signature check, which means the only way it can be flashed is by disassembling the laptop and programming the EEPROM chip directly.
(If there's a way around it I'm unaware of, please feel free to share.)

I can't agree more even in the last BIOS update they did a really bad job on chosing such a boot logo.
For that I have created couple myself wishing that they can use in their next update.
may be we can vote for that for lenovo to listen. Option 1 animated, same as option 2 but static

I really like your design Feevoo, much better than the official one.

just change it to any of the ones here. they all look way better in my opinion than the silly one in the new bios... i also support this as an owner of a y700 15 isk

For the record:
While by no means a proper solution, there is a way to change the default, ugly logo. I can post the details if anyone is interested, although it takes a hardware programmer, and the laptop has to be disassembled so that the system board can be put upside down to reach the SPI flash, which also means the thermal paste has to be reapplied afterwards (probably a good idea anyway).
