Display Does Not Turn On After Auto Turn Off

2019-08-16, 8:47 AM

Hi everyone! I have a Legion Y540 with 15inches screen and RTX2060. My problem is in the title. Display is automatically turning off but it does not turn on (actually screen turns on without display) when I move the mouse or press the button. Then I'm pressing power button, it goes sleeping mode, then I'm pressing power button again, it turns on without problem. It's weird. How can I solve this problem? Thank you in advance and sorry for my English.

Hi, i had a problem similar to this on windows 10. Turns out it was a driver's issue, so try to udpate your GPU driver and Management Engine Interface, or rollback to a
previous version to see what works for you.

I've updated my NVIDIA and Intel Integrated Graphics drivers but it did not work. Also tried to rollback previous versions. I think I should clean install but I don't know how to do and which driver to install first? NVIDIA or Intel? (I'm using hybrid mode)

I always suggest a clean windows installation from a USB stick and then letting Windows Update install all the missing drivers. If you don't have experience with windows installation then you can revert the laptop to factory settings:

While the laptop is off, use a SIM pin tool to press the Novo button on the side of your laptop. Select recovery from the menu an then follow the on-screen instructions to restore windows. Be careful not to delete your data, always take a backup of your important files. When windows finally restore, use Windows Update to install/update any missing drivers.
