Does replacing the SSD of my laptop invalidates warranty?

2020-07-02, 17:08 PM

Hello, I have a   Legion Y520-15IKBM Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 80YY , I would like to replace the SSD which is just 128 Gb with a larger one but my laptop is still covered by warranty.

Does replacing the SSD or the optical HDD invalidate the warranty? Clearly the new part wouldn't be covered but the rest of the components should be still covered right?

Thank you very much

No, it does not, but keep the current SSD as you will have reinstall in case of sending your y520 to Lenovo for repairs.
