Extreme problem with display (Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop)

Hello, I am having trouble with my display. There are all sorts of problems, from a blurred, flickering line across the top of my screen to windows that become transparent and blurry, especially when I move or maximize them. I have tried restarting my PC, updating the NVIDIA display through Lenovo Vantage, but nothing has worked. If anyone has encountered this problem before or knows the solution, please reply.

Re:Extreme problem with display (Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop)

Hi there,

Do these issues occur:

  1. in the BIOS (which you can access by pressing the small 'Novo' button on the side of the laptop)
  2. when connected to an external monitor
  3. or in Safe mode (https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht116905-how-to-enter-or-boot-to-safe-mode-in-windows-7-8-81-and-10)?

Another thing to try is pressing the keys CTRL + SHIFT + WIN + B to reset the graphics driver.

Thank you for replying,

While I do not have another monitor to test it on, the problem does persist in BIOS and safe mode. Resetting the graphics driver did not solve the problem, however, it seemed to slightly improve the display's state.

If the issue persists in the BIOS, it's likely an issue with the hardware itself (ie: display cable or display panel). The laptop should still be under warranty since it's less than a year old - I recommend reaching out to Lenovo support for a warranty repair: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/contact-us?linktrack=footer%3Asupport_contact%20us

Hello there.. I have a similar problem but it's at the top of the screen. Have you found a solution to the issue?

Re:Extreme problem with display (Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop)

I had this same issue. I had to send my laptop to the repair center 4 TIMES until the issue was resolved. That's right, a laptop I spent $1,000 wasn't in my possession for close to 3 months barely a month after I bought it. Finally the issue was resolved after the laptop was returned the 4th time to me with minor cosmetic damage. Now, 1 month after my warranty has expired the same issue has reoccurred and lenovo wants to charge me for the repairs. Why should I even believe they can fix it at this point and why should I have to pay more money for a laptop that hasn't even worked properly for more than 9 months after  I bought it.

Re:Extreme problem with display (Legion 5-15ARH05H Laptop)

I have exactly the same problem and hundreds of other people on the internet with this model. The only solution that helped me is to disconnect the power, disconnect the battery, hold the power button for about 15 sec. then reconnect everything. it's sad that lenovo doesn't solve this because it's a hardware fault. and it's asking for people's money. it looks like i bought the last product of this brand.
