Hey there! I have a Lenovo Legion Y520-15IKBN
I had set an admin password for the BIOS which I forgot. Now, I am unable to access the BIOS. 3 wrong tries and it says 'System Halted'. If I later try to restart it, it boots into windows (My default OS). I am trying to dual boot my system and hence am in need of accessing the BIOS menu.
I checked online and in many places they say we have to remove the battery and plug it in back after a couple minutes. - Didn't work.
A few showed the BIOS page showing a token for a reset code or something but I didn'e get that too.
I don't think any of the 3rd party softwares they say would fix this, but then again... I would be happy if you could suggest me some, cause in that case I would do it with a little more conviction and confidence
I am able to use my laptop fine, but it's just this one thing I really want to get fixed. Any suggestions and solutions are welcome. PS it's my first post in a forum so 🙈😋😁

Welcome to the Community Forums.
You really need to remember your admin password as required to make this work.
From the hardware manual (page 24):
"neither Lenovo nor Lenov authorized service technicians provide any services to reset"
On similar cases tech support replaces the entire motherboard instead. Any discussion on bypassing it is not allowed in the Community guideline as it defeats the purpose of having a password in the first place.
I hope this helps answer your query.
