High temperatures in game

2020-05-03, 16:59 PM

Hello,

When I playing games my temperatures go more than 90 degrees, all my drivers have been updated. I watched on yt some people playing same game with same specs but temperatures were about 65 degrees.

Laptop model:

Lenovo Legion Y520 i7 7700HQ GTX 1050Ti RAM 8GB

90 degrees is fine in high demanding games. I had 92c in cod warzone. The video's you watched were próbably recorded on a laptop with undervolted cpu

God, no, 92 degrees is not fine... anything over 85 degrees wears your GPU extremely fast (the same goes with CPU).

@NN25  Consider buying a laptop pad/cooler, undervolting your GPU (if it supports undervolting) or just put a thin book or a notebook under the rear end of your laptop - that way your laptop will get better air circulation and therefore the temps will be significantly lower. I play CoD Warzone and using the 3rd mentioned method I managed to lower my GPU temps from 77-78 degrees to 69-71 degrees.

Also, make sure your fans are not dusty and use your laptop at a normal room temperature - what's comfy for you is usually comfy for your laptop too.

I literally signed in to this site just to give you this advice and to save your graphics card!

My specs: i5 8300H; GTX 1050 4GB; 8GB RAM (will be upgrading to 16GB in a week)
I haven't undervolted or overclocked my GPU nor my CPU.
