How do I control the fan speed on Y530?

I know this sounds stupid, but I remember having the option to control fan speed when I first started using the laptop (few days ago), but I updated the BIOS (in an attepmt to fix a charger noise) and today I decided to play Witcher 3 and it was getting really hot so wanted to see if fans were running at maximum speed, but could find no option in Lenovo Vantage.

Help!

Re: How do I control the fan speed on Y530?

Only can put to max speed

Try undervolt+repaste for lower temps

How lower did you go with the undervolt thing ? I'm at -.155 mv with mine. i5-8300H, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD+1 TB HDD and 1050Ti. I ordered the intel 9560 wifi card and once I get my hands on that and swap it with the realtek one, I will also do a CPU repaste aswell.

Hope this will fix the high temps on my machine. Smiley Happy How's your ?

It depends on the silicon. I managed to undervolt -170mv on core and cache. I have 8300H+1050TI too

I've done a repaste, however I got a bad heatsink which results in uneven core temps

A bad heatsink ? The heatsink is not the same on all y530 models ?

Y530 uses tripod heatsink on CPU side which may cause uneven core temps due to difference in mounting pressure
