Re:How to disable or change RGB profile during start up - Legion 7i

2020-11-08, 2:55 AM

I wish Lenovo come up with a bios update or something so that we can disable the RGB in startup or at least left us select which color to be there in startup so that we can just select one and leave it rather than the rainbow.

It's really weird paying this much, and not be able to disable the easiest thing. I really wish Lenovo could see this tread and give us an update so we can have a "professional" laptop.

Hi, let me know if you found any fix to disable it at boot. ordered it for 50/50 work and game.

I just ordered a 7i, if no way o turn it off, i'll just cancel the purchase. I love the design because it looks professional but I don t want any RGB at all.

thanks and finger crossed for all of us.....

Hold (FN) Hit (Space Bar) until you get lighting or lack of light you desire.

You can also just set up a custom colour (e.g. black) in iCue which will load up as soon as Windows starts. It's not ideal, but it works for me.

Hi all,

I have already forwarded the request to change the behavior in connection with the Y740, but unfortunately haven't received any updates yet. I will expand the request for the Legion 7i and as soon as I know more, I will let you know in this discussion.

Best regards,

Is there any traction on this? I just purchased this Laptop. I haven't even got it yet, but I'm thinking about returning it already. Please update the BIOS and fix.

In the discussion regarding the Y740, one of the members has shared the following workaround which he uses on the Legion 7:

I will copy/paste the solution that worked for me on my Legion 7.

I know solution how to turn off it completely:

  1. uninstall iCUE

  2. use fn + some rgb controlling keys (-,+) under the macro keys, bottom left corner (on 15" model) Tada! You have turned off RGB lighting and spiral rainbow shouldn' be turned on automatically on boot anymore.

  3. if you want to use RGB use fn + spacebar commands.
