Would there be an update on this issue from Lenovo? Could Lenovo give a timeline when this will be fixed?

same problem here :(, nice PC but it would be much nicer with ability to control RGB keyboard effects even during reboot!

Next to the discoshow on boot my hinge is starting to click.

Same here, my hinge is clicking and the plastic around the display is visibly disconnecting. Perfect timing.

Now I don't know on which Lenovo defect I should focus on. Defects and issues are multiplying.

The RGB components are made by Corsair. Its just a built-in Corsair RGB system. Corsair should change the firmware.

Still, i've bought a Lenovo laptop, not from Corsair. So Lenovo, fix it! I cant imagine its a hardware limitation.

I only need light on the keyboard. All other lights have no function! Default to white would be sufficient.

And running ICUE is not an solution. The software uses almost a whole cpu core! Someone should be fired over this at Corsair and Lenovo for passing this when building the laptop.

Manually disabling all Corsair services does make a difference. Some ICUE functionality does stops working.

Re:How to disable or change RGB profile during start up - Legion 7i

My Legion 7 15IMHg05 81YU002MMH arrived today.

I will be primarily using it in a office environment for software development purposes.

As I'm no longer a 9 year old kid who wants to impress his friends with all the colors RGB lights can possibly have....

Is there any way to make the default RGB spinning rainbow colors, be static to say blue or another color, during boot and login?

EDIT 1:

I just got a call from a very friendly Lenovo support person, who told me that the iCUE software running on my Legion 7 does not appear to support HARDWARE LIGHTNING EFFECTS, which is what typically determines the Corsair hardware RGB profile used during startup.

So Lenovo should make this possible together with Corsair to support hardware lightning effects, or make it somehow otherwise possible. (UEFI firmware setting?)

EDIT 2:

Following the recent post made on 2nd March 2021 by @Juraj_Lenovo  as found here: https://forums.lenovo.com/topic/view/2250/4552233

I'm wondering is there is any way Lenovo can provide a custom Firmware update for the Lenovo Legion 7 15IMHg05 81YU002MMH that does the exact same as made possible for the Y740, ie apply the static blue light to override the spiraling rainbow RGB effects during startup (or when iCUE is switched off)

Please :) @Juraj_Lenovo

My laptop is great. I've use it nearly everyday for work and home since I got it in fall 2020. It's powerful enough to be a home station and run cyberpunk at ~50 at medium/low, and every other game at high 144fps on a 144hz 3k monitor.

But I would never fully recommend this model to a friend.

And I won't, until this issue is fixed. I get that you guys might have not have made the firmware, but this is a screw up that can be fixed. It's already been done for other models with the same stupid issue.
