I can't acces 2nd hard drive on legion Y520

Zrzut ekranu (16).png

When i couldn't install the game i wanted to because of lack of space, I realized that there are supposed to be 2 disc. I believe in one of them I am supposed to store Windows and in the other one everything else. I think I stored everything just on the Windows one. Does anyone know what to do?

Re: I can't acces 2nd hard drive on legion Y520

Hi OlaOzdz,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you share the machine number /MTM (ex. 80WK0003IX) from the sticker or get it from here so we can check the details of your machine?

Likewise you try checking with the device manager (show hidden) to check other devices. Another way to check is going in the BIOS and see what devices are detected in the machine level (outside OS).

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: I can't acces 2nd hard drive on legion Y520

Hi OlaOzdz,

Greetings.

Checking with parts lookup using the MTM 80WY001LPB here shows that there is no m.2 ssd stick and only storage intended for this machine this is with PN 5H20L22184 (RW1D ST1000LM035 1T HDD).

With tech support tool also shows PN 5H20L22184 (Seagate ST1000LM035 1T 2.5" 7mm 5400rpm) and without any second storage. It only shows option to place one m.2 PCIe SSD.

You can verify this checking the device manager and likewise going in the BIOS. To access it, shut down the machine and use an open end of a paper clip on the Novo button (page 5 item 7) to power it back on. Choose BIOS set up on the Novo Menu. From the first tab would show the devices.

Update us soon as convenient.

Regards
