Ideapad Y700 - screen goes black

Shortly after the Window's 10 update my computer all of a sudden the following happens.

The screen will go black and you have hear the hard drive running.

Anyone having this problem and if so any idea how to fix it?

Re: Ideapad Y700 - screen goes black

Hi there, Shyser          -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

In response to customer reports of Y700-15ISK, Y700-Touch 15ISK, and Y700-17ISK laptops not powering on, or powering on with no display, a solution has made available via BIOS update.

Version 30, CDCN30WW, can be found here:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/IdeaPad-Y-Series-laptops/y700-15isk/do...

Update us how it goes.

Re: Ideapad Y700 - screen goes black

I have not been able to try it as I am not sure exactly what version I have. I have looked but from what I see it is already higher. Can you help me with exactly where I need to look in order to find the correct version my laptop has?

Re: Ideapad Y700 - screen goes black

I did just try it and it did not work. It said that the BIOS is not compatiable with my computer.

Re: Ideapad Y700 - screen goes black

Run a few tests from this link - http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/lenovodiagnosticsolutions/tools

You should try Storage test, memory test, motherboard test, CPU test.

Open Command prompt and try sfc /scannow to check if your windows files are corrupted.

Re: Ideapad Y700 - screen goes black

I run the Lenovo Solutions Center once a month or more. Everything always comes back as passed. When I type in the sfc/scannow nothing comes up. I am getting frustrated with the issue and is there some place I can bring the laptop to have them look at it and not have to pay for it since it is still under warranty?

Re: Ideapad Y700 - screen goes black

How do I find out my local service center? I don't want to have to take it too far. I bought it at Best Buy can I take it there for them to look at it?
