Hi! As one of those who had thought to upgrade my Lenovo y700 I've bought only 256gb SSD version. I've found a lot helpful information on this forum about installing HDD, all those connectors etc. But the open question for me is: HDD should be slim (7mm) or 9mm gonna work too? I have 9mm right now and if it's good I don't need to buy a new one. And is there chance to install another SDD as well? Should it be 7mm as well? And if so do I need to buy something different from those: Cable: 5C10K25544, Tray: 5B40K25518 for the SSD? Thank you

Hi ogogik ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Storage Specification as per hardware manual :
• 2.5-inch, 7 mm SATA III • 500 GB / 1 TB, 5400rpm • HYBRID 1 TB 5400rpm SSHD (8G) • SSD, NGFF, 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB
Recommended storage listed on page 79 item 14 would be 7mm only but in terms of functionality it should work just fine as only the fitting may prevent closure of the base cover.
In such event the bracket maybe needed to be remove (page 41-42).
You may go ahead and try without purchasing any cables or ports.
Update us how it goes.
