Hi, I'm planning to replace my SSD because my current one is too small.

Is either of these SSD going to be compatible with this lenovo?

Samsung SSD M2 960 PRO NVMe M.2 1TB MZ-V6P1T0BW

Samsung SSD 960 M.2 Evo 1Tb (MZ-V6E1T0BW)

Since it cost a lot, I'd need advice before buying it and turns out its not working.

Hi henryg93,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Our community does offer a lot of discussions regarding Y720 m.2 SSD MVMe PCIe upgrades as mentioned recommended topic below as the model offers up to 1TB storage available among its recommended SSD from the hardware manual (page 64 item 10).

As example is PN 5SD0L07883 SSD, Samsung MZVLW1T0HMLH-000L2 PCIe M.2 1TB SSD which has the same specifications as the Samsung M.2 960 PRO and EVO. We cannot guarantee 100% since they are not among the OEM FRU listed tested part but is expected to work.

Checking return option is advised as usual but as confirmed by fellow members in their upgrades here and here, we are optimistic.

I hope this helps answer your query.
