This is not true with CPU Cache. Lowering CPU Cache power will never lower performance. If you reach a point too low, then you might suffer a data-destroying cache and might get an unrecoverable data error.

Lowering CPU Core will lower the max clock frequency the CPU can hit, but you probably won't notice a hit until you get to -.300+, at which point the CPU won't hit the max turbo speed. But lowering the CPU Core from base to -.200 has a huge effect on temperature, lowering it further has less effect on temperature.

I did -350 on core and -125 on cache. Still 3.9GHz on all cores while playing six siege, cs go....

Once you get this notebook tweaked it is a pretty amazing value.

I just noticed that everytime I boot up my laptop it triggers "edp other on cpu and gpu. Why it appears on boot up and what does it mean? I tried booting up with both ac adapters 170w(with this also PL2 appears on cpu sometimes) and 135W. -290 on core, -165 on cache, -60 on igpu if this information says something.

LENOVO Legion Y530. I7-8750h, Nvidia GeForce 1050 Ti, 16GB ram 2666MHz. SSD(128GB), HDD 1TB(7200RPM)

I never experienced power throttle with my chip but power drain with battery 170w adaptor solved this issue.
Chip under full load around 81°C :o  ( used prime 95)

Thanks for this! Worked perfectly. Repasted and followed your settings. Significant cpu performance boost. Temps are high (87c) during sustained 6 core loads but holding 3.9ghz across all cores. Knocked about 25% off the ThrottleStop internal test. Nice!

Hi. I'm new to this entire throttlestop and undervolting thing. I just received my y530 i7 1050Ti with a 135W adaptor. I had an Asus ROG before this, and like all gaming laptops, i think overheating is an inherent issue when playing AAA titles. I don't want to face the same problems with this new laptop. Could someone explain the concept of throttlestop, and walk me through what I need to do to make sure that 1. my laptop doesnt overheat, and 2. that I can eke out max performance from this system safely. TIA.
