Same problem. Looks like quite a common issue. Rollback to the generic microsoft driver via device manager worked for me. Tried many other methods. Only this works.

After new update driver from Realtek, with ver. 6.0.8978.1 is can be fix that sound issue.
Try from windows update.

The recent realtek software component update from windows update solves the problem. I reinstalled the realtek driver 6.0.8960.1 and everything is ok now. The audio console and dolby app also is working well.

This worked perfectly for me. When first getting trough the wizard everything just goes as it should. After a restart of my laptop my audio was working again. There is just one minor thing that happened. After the restart the driver should install itself whitout any issieus. I got an error. But everything works for me so yeah. :)

Same issue here, I tried everything I found but nothing worked, thanks to @Whaleshark I reinstalled the realtek driver 6.0.8960.1 and it finally works! Thank you!!

Thanks a lot! I had same issue with lenovo legion 5-17IMH05H and this fixed it. The installation proceeded, then the computer was restarted and then it tries to finish the installation. The installation fail with some error but the sound issue was resolved anyway.

Hello.

You need to update the audio driver.

To do this, you must:

1) Go into settings

2) Click System

3) Click Sound

4) Click Troubleshoot

5) Follow the directions with the virtual assistant

You may need to repeat this one or two times, as I had to repeat this once for it to work.
