Legion 5 Pro 16IAH7H 82RF - Limitations on external HDMI monitor?
I'm seeing some odd stuff from some of the control panels and such so was wondering what sort of limitations I'm dealing with and if any drivers are misconfigured. Summary:
- I just bought a Lenovo G34w-30 and hooked it up via HDMI. Seems to be working ok so far. Looks pretty good!
- nVidia Manage Display Mode says the laptop display is in Optimus (Intel Iris Xe Graphics) and can't be changed. I'm assuming this is because the nVidia "card" (GeForce RTX™ 3070Ti 8GB) can't drive more than one monitor at a time, and if an external monitor is connected it will always drive that (don't see any option to change but I don't want to change it), so the laptop display will always be driven by the "integrated graphics" in this situation.
- nVidia GPU Activity shows that the nVidia GPU is running the external monitor as I would hope. But some things displayed on the laptop built-in are shown as running on the nVidia GPU interestingly enough.
- Windows Device Manager thinks the G34w-30 is a "generic monitor" and says it's location is the nVidia GPU. I can't seem to find any better display driver for this, or any HDR ICC profiles, or anything.
- The device manager says the internal display driver is oem125.inf but the external G34w-30 is monitor.inf.
What I was hoping for:
- ICC profiles for the monitor
- some way to figure out if G-Sync will work
And I don't seem to find either......
