Legion 5 - adjust BIOS/UEFI default screen brightness

2020-12-15, 16:03 PM

When I enter BIOS/UEFI, I find the screen brightness way too high. The same goes for the Windows boot screen (when the white legion-logo is shown).

Is there a way to lower the default brightness for the screen?

To clearify: My question is not about Windows, no problem there. Brightness can be adjusted up and down just fine, and is remembered sessions after sessions. But outside Windows, during boot (and inside BIOS/UEFI) - the screen seems to be at 100% brightness, and I cant dim it down. The white legion-logo during Windows boot is so white that is almost hurts my eyes.

So I would like to adjust the screens default brightness to, say, 50%.

If this is not possible, then the next best solution would be to get rid of the Legion-logo at Windows boot. Swap it out with the default blue windows logo, a black screen or something. Just to get rid of screaming white pixels at boot.

The Legion Y740 has the same problem. Legion Series of laptops are not very user friendly.
