Recenlty i purchased the Y520 (2 weeks ago). In the beginning i had issues with USB devices, everything works except USB HDD or pendrives. This solved itself, but now i have another weird issue. This time the keyboard does weird.
The E, J, and backspace dont work suddenly. Sometimes they work, and sometimes they dont. I dont know exaclty what is creating this, but it does also happen when using a bootdisk ala ultimatebootCD.
Can you tell me what to do? WHere i purchased it, told me that Lenovo changed their warranty (DOA) and that i have to wait 3 weeks. What can/shall i do?

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.
(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Hi, I have the same issue and nothing helps. I've even installed a clean copy of windows 10, but the key problem is still present. There's even a youtube video from a guy who has the problem.
If anyone can propose a solution, please reply.
btw I,m using the onscreen keyboard now.

I have the same issue, started the installation of Windows (CMD, to test if its windows or something else) but cannot use the specific keys on the keyboard with CMD. They dont recogze that you press them, only after a few minutes they start working.
Just to be sure, i have updated the bios afterwards and reinstalled Windows 10 home. Still the same issue, tomorrow i will bring the laptop back to the supplier. (Hope that they will swap it)
