This is sad news for all really. I think this is a harsh lesson learned for everyone who has bought a Legion with these issues. Live with it, or buy something else.

 

Thanks for the update though, I'm genuinely sorry it wasn't fixed, but it is good to have these things on record.

Did you try rolling back to a different bios? Do you have Hybrid GPU mode on in Vantage?

 

In the piano video, I've had very brief microstutter like that once or twice before but it is very uncommon and not prolonged. I've only ever noticed such issues with hybrid GPU mode on (though I could be wrong). What peripherals do you have plugged in via USB? Have you checked Windows event viewer for errors?

Persistent in both modes "discrete" and "dynamic" hybrid modes.

Happens regardless of peripherals, even when nothing attached.

And no errors in logs or system diagnostics.

 

The stutter still happen at random times during the day maybe up to 8 times if I use it a whole day. It's really bad when my work dependent on video/sound recording, encoding is corrupted by these events. I have to re-run those tasks sometimes and even when media work is complete I have to watch and listen to the final media files in real time (some times for hours) to check for it.

 

What happened lenovo? Your older thinkpad models used to be the most reliable, dependable machines. I still have the X230 because it's so good at just working.

I haven't had a lot of time to test yet cause I was gone for the weekend. I did game an hour the afternoon it arrived and it all went okay, normally the stutters would almost instantly start so.. so far so good, but it was similar when I bought the laptop: everything was ok for a day or two then the stutters appeared. I'll try to use it some more this week to see if it really is fixed.

@Microstutterfan what about the battery fn toggle test, does that still cause lag? I hope things work out for you.

 

So they've insisted that I return my unit a 3rd time for repairs before they'll issue a refund or replacement (no chance in hell I'm taking a replacement). I wanted a refund after their customer service said I'd be entitled to one if the last repair failed which it did. I've kept a recrod of all correspondence which I'll post if things go south a 3rd time.

 

In the meantime I fully expect to receive the same faulty unit in a week or two. This could have been resolved with a refund today and I could have ended my participation in this ridiculous circus but they've insisted on going through the process and dragging this out. It isn't even about the faulty laptop anymore but the ludicrous customer service.

Audio popping/glitching accompanied by mouse and visual stutter are getting more frequent on my 15ACH16H.

This is probably some kind of scheduling issue and Lenovo software is behind it. But, as with everything Lenovo related, software is never fixed. Get a refund if you can brokenaimbot. And geez, Lenovo really need to modernise their forums. Just curious but, what happens when Lenovo receive your laptop? Do they really charge you for the luxury of sending your drives back if you no longer cna use the laptop? I think I saw that somewhere.

Believe me I'm an unwilling participant in this case right now. They can end it right now and issue a refund rather than make me jump through hoops to get there. We're way past the stage where I would ever consider buying lenovo again. I just don't understand the insipid need for them to drag this out. I'll stop posting about the poor customer service here if they choose to just end it once and for all.

 

@LFX64 I've always reinstalled from recovery software or left a very basic windows installation before sending machines to repair. In my experience they tend to wipe the drives during the repair process. I wouldn't trust leaving my work stuff on them anyway.
