Legion 7 16ACHg6 Lid Down RGB Issue

2021-05-06, 10:15 AM

I'm currently using my Legion 7 WITHOUT iCue installed so it's running the default, spiral RGB, color profile.

When my laptop is lid-down, the RGB in "Legion" on the lid seems to freeze up and stop cycling (the remaining RGB elements work as normal though). This doesn't happen however when the laptop is lid-up nor when I'm running the same profile but with iCue active so I was wondering if there was anything that could be done about it.

Cheers,

Dungeon

Hello @Dungeon,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would it be possible for you to post a video of this happening for reference?

I would also suggest trying to reinstall the iCue software if you haven't already tried that.

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Jack_Lenovo1

Hi @Jack_Lenovo1,

The following video shows the bug I described. Notice that the 3 pronged star remains frozen at purple whilst the light strip that goes around the laptop works fine.

I uninstalled iCue because I'm getting a bug where one of the LEDS at the bottom left is always set to some random color regardless of my color profile, even when all RGB elements are disabled in iCue as shown in the attached picture. At work, I like to be able to completely turn off all RGB elements which, given this bug, is only possible when iCue is uninstalled which is why I have it uninstalled for now.

Reinstalling and uninstalling iCue doesn't seem to help either of the bugs unfortunately.

Cheers,

Dungeon

Hello @Dungeon,

Sorry for the late reply.

Can you try checking if the lighting is waving when the lid is open?

Because older machines have the lighting on the lid set to static.

Could you also check if the profile inside the iCue software is set to static for the lid?

Regards,

Jack_Lenovo1

Hi @Jack_Lenovo1,

With iCue active:

- Everything works perfectly except with the light bar RGB issue outlined in the other thread.

With iCue closed:

- With the lid up, the logo light wave effect works perfectly.

- With the lid down, the logo light wave freezes on the last color it was on before the lid was shut.

The issue doesn't occur when iCue is active so I am assuming the problem is not linked to iCue.

Cheers,

Dungeon

Hello @Dungeon,

Thanks for the update.

Would it be possible for you to share the version of iCue currently installed on your machine?

Regards,

Jack_Lenovo1

Hi @Jack_Lenovo1,

I just updated to iCue v 4.11.274 which was released today and the lightbar issue that was mentioned in the other thread seems to be fixed? (haven't had time to test the other issues like hotkeys and battery life but the main issue of the thread seems to be resolved)

However, the problems that occur when iCue is closed still remain.

Cheers,

Joseph
