Legion Pro 7i GPU junction and CPU core temps (is 100c and 100c max okay?)

Just got my legion pro 7i, messing around with some games on ultra settings like bl3 and starfield and remnant 2, and performance has been very good with temp averages being around low/mid 70’s for gpu and cpu, but I notice hwinfo saying the cpu max at high 90’s, and the gpu junction temp max at over 100c.

Just wanna know how normal this is and if undervolting or anything else would help, I already unlocked undervolting in the bios and am doing a -1.0 uv through xtu. Thanks for any feedback!

Hi d1olph,

It's normal for your CPU and GPU to reach high temperatures when running games on ultra settings. However, consistently hitting temperatures in the high 90s and over 100c can potentially shorten the lifespan of your components.

Undervolting can indeed help reduce these temperatures. You've already started this process, which is great. You might also want to consider improving the cooling in your system, either by using a laptop cooling pad or by ensuring the laptop's vents are not blocked and the room is well ventilated.

If you continue to see high temperatures, it might be worth checking if there's an issue with the thermal paste application or the cooling system in your laptop. You can use the Lenovo Vantage app to monitor your system's health and performance. Here's the link to the app: Lenovo Vantage
