Legion Y530 bluetooth stuttering on headphones

2019-07-04, 17:20 PM

So i recently got a Y530, and its great in many ways, but im having an issue with the bluetooth. I got a pair of Sennheiser 4.40BT bluetooth headphones, and they keep on stuttering, kinda "loosing" connection for sometimes up to a few seconds. Doesn't happen on my phone or my old setup.

I have updated the drivers, but still, no difference.

Thanks for the help in advance!

If you have updated to  Windows 1903 Microsoft has BT problem.

Microsoft has identified compatibility issues with some driver versions for Bluetooth radios made by Realtek and Qualcomm. To safeguard your update experience, we have applied a compatibility hold on devices with affected driver versions for Realtek or Qualcomm Bluetooth radios from being offered Windows 10, version 1903 or Windows Server, version 1903 until the driver has been updated.

Until an updated driver has been installed, we recommend you do not attempt to manually update using the Update now button or the Media Creation Tool.

Makes a lot of sense! Just upgraded my laptop as soon as i got it, to 1903, guess i'll just have to wait for a fix.

I think problem is not solved with the new "updated" version of the driver. Stuttering issues still happens to me on Windows 10 1909 with the latest driver updates... I think it is realted with Windows 10 update and our incompatible Realtek Bluetooth driver. Because I don't have any issues on Ubuntu 19.09. I found this article online:

HERE IS MY SOLUTION!

I tried everything, such as:

-Installing older drivers,

-Disabling thermal framework

-Disabling hyperthreding

-Assigning my playback software to another cores excluding CORE0

-Visited DELL Forums for applying different solutions which other people suggested experiencing simiilar problems on their DELL branded laptops.

AND...

I also disabled Wi-Fi but it did not help, until i reboot my pc with my Wi-Fi disabled (disable from taskbar, don't disable it from device manager)

And it works flawlessly now. Only downside of this solution is i am hooked to ethernet cable for internet connection.

So, either this wi-fi card or it's driver is flawed or it is just windows' fault which handles the process. Because linux users does not encounter with any problem.

Regards.
