Legion Y540-15IRH-PG0 - SSD Upgrade

2020-09-16, 21:08 PM

So i have had the laptop about Since January now and love it, i find the performance great but there is one thing that drives me nuts.

Its got a 128GB SSD

I have extended the warranty, would it invalid the warranty if i got a local computer engineer install a secondary drive? or could i get away with an external for popping my games on?

Plus are any recommended drives I can use?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Lenovo forum community!

You can get a technician to swap the SSD for you, or do it yourself, or you can go for a USB-C external drive as well, those are all fine options.

for info on taking the unit apart, go to pcsupport.lenovo.com see "Knowledgebase & Guides" and find the Hardware maintenance guide.

Do remember, any damage deemed done by this process, goes under customer induced damage, so outside of warranty.
