Lenovo Ideapad Y700 - Pet hair in fan

Hello,

I have pets in the house and I just bought the laptop about a month ago. I was using it then I decided to clean it from outside because it got fingerprints all over it. When I flipped the laptop I was surprised by the huge amounts of pet hair piling up on the fan. It never crossed my mind that this would happen. I want to know if the fan is supported by a dust filter mesh? And is it possible that the hair got through to the components inside? Should I haved checked and cleaned from the inside?

Thanks in advance,

Mohamed

Re: Lenovo Ideapad Y700 - Pet hair in fan

Hi mBehairy ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

There is possibility that can internally go in and get tied to the fans .

You can have it checked further by opening the cover and also cleaning the filters on the vents making sure no openings on it specially on the sides. Herewith is the hardware manual if you have the tools and skills for disassembly.

You may review the manual along with the service training video for reference .

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards
