This laptop is about 5 months old. While I was browsing the web suddenly the keyboard isn't working. Because of that, i tried to restart my computer. And for some reason, a Novo Button Menu showed up. I tried to press enter (because it is already highlighted on Normal Startup) and it wont. Then I remembered that my keyboard isn't working! I don't know what to do. I tried to press the power button to shut it off but nothing happened.
Please help me! This is the first time i have problems in this pc.
I don't know what to do..

How does that seems a "solution"? Does the problem come back again?
I would think it is some kind of driver issue - I am facing the same.
How does running battery out have anything to do with keyboard...

This happened to me also and I've only had the laptop for a week or so. What is the actual answer?
As per the original message above, windows closed down the laptop and restarted and when it booted up I had the DOS box requesting whether to start the machine as normal or the options of safe mode, bios settings but with the keyboard not working I was unable to select any options.
I did manage to force a shut down and everything was working ok when it restarted, however it does not fill me with confidence for the future of the laptop.
Has anyone from Lenovo commented on this issue?

I have the same problem. I have to hard restart my notebook everytime the keyboard stuck. What to do? How to reinstal keyboard drivers? How to get into bios and what should i change there?

I dont know why it does this. Every time I want to play a game it works fine, but after awhile my keyboard shuts off completely. Even restarting my laptop doesnt fix the issue and the only way I can fix it is to hard reset my computer which is not healthy for the laptop.

After "upagrding" the BIOS (the version number actually is the same; however, the starting up image is different), the key board freezing problem seems to cease to occur.
Frankly, I did not use it extensively. The "heaviest" load might be ten hours of playing "Might & Magic Heroes VII". During the game, sometimes keyboard becomes irresponsive, but I do not know if it is the issue with the y700 laptop or the game software. Re-loading saved games would solve (or cause) the issue. Yet the laptop does not hang or freeze.

I have same problem. After I play almost any game some time keyboard not working and if I reboot laptop I cant choose anything in Novo Button Menu(keyboard dont working). If I do hard reboot by power button keyboard works again. Lenovo driver update didnt find any normal updates fo this.
