Lenovo L340 15-Irh monitor support

2021-10-14, 0:37 AM

Hello, I have a L340 15Irh computer and the specification list says that for external monitors it support up to 4096 x 2160 @60hz. Does this mean that if I connect my laptop to a 144hz monitor, I will only get 60hz? I'll be using HDMI 2.0 and a 144hz monitor. Some people online say it also depends on your GPU. I have a GTX 1650 for reference.

Here is the specification list: https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/IdeaPad/ideapad_L340_15IRH_Gaming/ideapad_L340_15IRH_Gaming_Spec.pdf

Thanks

Hello @BlueJedi ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As mentioned on the product sheet:

Monitor Support
Supports up to 2 independent displays via native display and 1 external monitor; supports external monitor via HDMI® (up
to 4096x2160@60Hz)

We can only certify 6096 x 2160 resolution at 60Hz even if the monitor can handle higher rates.

There are still other that claim to being able to reach more refresh value with a high grade HDMI cable but this may not be on all cases.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards,

spidey101

 - what is the maximum resolution of the monitor?

- I'm not sure, but if you have a monitor with a maximum resolution of 1440p QHD (2560 x 1440), I think you can have the following options 30Hz, 60Hz, 75Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz, because your laptop supports a maximum of 4096 x 2160 @ 60hz resulting in a lower resolution supports a higher refresh rate.

Higher refresh rates can be achieved but this may require selecting a resolution lower than the Max Resolution Supported.

Hi All,

As officially stated on the product sheet, we can only guarantee external monitor support via HDMI® (up
to 4096x2160@60Hz)

Other may claim different options as noted by tmtt117.
