Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH05H max capacity NVME SSD

Hi everyone,
has anyone tried to put a single 2tb nvme drive and then have more than a 2tb nvme (for sample 2tb + 512gb of nvme)?
Yes I know on the lenovo site it says that for this model it supports max 2 tb of nvme (1tb for single nvme slot), but they also said that it supported max 16/32 gb of ram and instead supports max 64.

Thanks all for the support.

Re:Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH05H max capacity NVME SSD

Hi hunte88,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Based on PSREF: https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Legion/Lenovo_Legion_5_15ARH05H The machine can only hold up to 2 drives (1x 2.5" HDD and an M.2 drive) also the maximum tested NVME SSD capacity is 512GB for M.2 2242 SSD and 1TB  for M.2 2280 SSD variants.

However there are SSD manufacturers like Crucial that claim they have tested their 2TB M.2 2280 SSD to work with the machine: https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/lenovo/lenovo-legion-5-15arh05#ssd

Note: This was all take from a generic psref page. I can provide more device specific information if you would post your MTM.

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Jack_Lenovo1

Re:Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH05H max capacity NVME SSD

Hi hunte88,

Thanks for the MTM.

I've checked the system board of the machine (photo attached) and it only has one NVME Slot.

This would mean that you would only have the option to either stick with the default or upgrade to a larger SSD capacity.

You also have the option to add a 2.5" SATA HDD or SSD but you will need to purchase both a SATA Connector (Part number:5C10S30072) and a HDD Bracket (Part number:5B40S21997)

You can find all the parts you need here: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ph/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/legion-series/legion-5-15arh05h/82b1/82b1008asp/parts/display/model

Hope this helps out!

Re:Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH05H max capacity NVME SSD

Hi,

you can see the motherboard of my laptop (se file attached). There are 2 slot of nvme and one for sata ssd. If i use slot sata i can use only one nvme slot (as now). If don't use a sata slot i can use 2 nvme.

I ask: if put a second nvme of 2 tb, can i use it with  the default first nvme ? (nvme of 2tb second slot + nvme of512 gb first slot ) ?

Thanks a lot.

Re:Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH05H max capacity NVME SSD

I have 1TB NVME + 512GB NVME + 2TB Sata SSD at the moment if that information help.

From technical side i don't know any reason why 2TB NVME should not work, but i could not test yet.

regards
