Lenovo Legion 5 Pro RAM ... Lenovo are you for real?

2021-06-22, 9:26 AM

I bought a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (16ACH6H 5800h + RTX 3070), so far laptop was ok, however there is one thing I will not forgive and make sure this is the last laptop I buy from Lenovo.

How come some of us were sent a laptop with inferior RAM? when some get a good performing one? This is a daylight robbery and a SCAM!!!

Be aware people don't buy from this shambolic company!

Hello @half_empty,

Thanks for reaching out.

Are both photos from different machines?

If yes, it would be possible they are using different RAM sticks which would the possible reason why they have different performance.

Our machines are already pre configured from the factory to perform at peak performance. Do you get any performance dips as a result of the RAM speed?

Regards,

Hi

I know you just trying to do your job....

Both Legion 5 Pro bought in the UK, the only difference is the 16GB vs 32GB, and the performance hit is around 10% and even up tp 50% in low 1%!!!

all this because Lenovo wanted to save max £3 on buying the cheapest RAM available.

Now, I'm out of the return window so I stack with a pathetic underperforming laptop, being scammed and cheated.

If I want to get that performance I'll have to invest again around £100 to change RAM because Lenovo will not help in slightest just coming with the generic answers like you did, covering their greedy **bleep** up.

Same here for my lenovo legion 7 16achg6.

r/AMDLaptops - Is this normal? Infinity fabric realtime desyncing/updating on legion 7? (2021)

It even is single rank like what is going on!?! Ryzen receives a massive improvement from dual rank memory.

Allow us to enable XMP so its actually worth it spending another 250 dollars on ram ontop of buying this expensive laptop or just dont cheap out on the components!

I had bought this machine to receive performance, not bottlenecks all over the place.

A single component being cheaped out means every single other component will take a hit as a result of it!

Ram issues:

1. different timings than reviewers (set EXTREMELY loose)

2. single ranked memory in a laptop that was meant to be made for pure performance

3. no XMP profile option

I was thinking of buying CL16 crucial memory which is dual ranked, but after finding out myself that the "Memory OC" in the bios does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, i figured out there was no way to turn on XMP which means i basically wasted 250 dollars because of this confusing label.

This is an absolute mess.
