Re: Lenovo Legion Y530 Battery Issue

Same issue here, I have even created a new post regarding Legion Y530 15ICH 1060 model. I have reinstalled Windows, tried this fixed suggested but nothing works. I want a new battery and to be compensated. I've never purchased a Lenovo product in the past but thought I could give this laptop a try. But this will be the last time to buy from this company.

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have the old Battery Firmware of Lenovo Y530 15ICH 1060?

I will appreciate if anyone posts it, or the support of Lenovo posts it.

Thanks

Re: Lenovo Legion Y530 Battery IssueUnplug your Laptop and remove the battery Press and hold the Po

follow these steps and solved your problems regarding batteries .

1step:

Unplug your laptop and remove the battery

Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds

Plug your laptop back in and replace the Battery

Start your PC

Open Device Manager (accessible by right-clicking your Start Button)

Expand the Batteries section

For each device in that section:

Right-click and choose Disable

Then right-click and choose Enable

Close Device Manager

Open the Settings App

Go to Update & Security - Troubleshoot

Run these troubleshooters

Hardware and devices

Power

2. Step

If the above does not work you should re-calibrate your battery . . .

Some night when you are not using your laptop, turn Windows off (not sleep)

Charge the laptop all night

The following day, disconnect from the mains and run the laptop on battery power until it shuts down due to lack of power

Then re-connect to the mains and charge the laptop continuously to 100%.

Re: Lenovo Legion Y530 Battery Issue

Hello Lenovo, other customers,

I would just like to confirm that this issue still exists. Yesterday my laptop suddenly shut down when I unplugged the charger, as I usually do when I do not need it for gaming. The entire day the laptop worked fine, until that moment.

I have tried the Battery Firmware Update Tool here as suggested by others, but I cannot seem to get it past 0/2812, with any compability and while always running as administrator. Maybe someone here still has some tips for me? I am going to contact Lenovo tomorrow, but I sure hope there is a better fix than just replacing the battery, because I rely on this laptop for all my university work.

The laptop was bought in August 2019, so just 3 months ago.

Any other help is appreciated.

Kind regards,

Re: Lenovo Legion Y530 Battery Issue

Same here. Bought the laptop back in March and was without an internet connection until a couple of days ago.

Since yesterday night I haven't been able to use it without plugging the charger, quite annoying actually. I tried the method suggested in page 16, but I cannot run in compatibility mode for win95, and with the other compatibilty modes it doesn't get past 0/2812...

My OS is Windows 10 Pro.

Now Lenovo Vantage (I installed it a couple of hours ago) says I have to replace the battery.

Can anyone please tell me if I have to take it to replace the battery or there are any other solutions (maybe installing another OS to check if the battery is fine?)

Thanks

Hi.

I did get my laptop repaired under warranty by contacting the Lenovo Support. The battery was replaced and the laptop is working again. Still zero reply from Lenovo concerning this issue though...

Good luck!

Kind regards,

Recently my Lenovo Y530 stopped booting with power only from battery. It doesn't charge anymore. Stuck at 89% and Lenovo Vantage shows battery error. I can't update firmware like suggested in previous posts.

What if I'm in another country than where I purchased it? And your warranty doesn't work here, because you like to lock warranty to country and not give international support like you should. What should I do?! I need it for work

Every company has problems. Especially with such complex hardware/software combination as laptops. What differs is how they handle this problems. And right now I'm not eager to purchase from you ever again. This is my second laptop from you. Last one died due to Nvidia GPU epic fail. Interesting fact: Lenovo replaced motherboard free of charge even thought it was out of warranty. And it still failed shortly after!
