Lenovo Legion Y530 Overheating problem

Hello guys, I am new around here. But I joined because of my problem. I bought Lenovo Legion Y530 like 7 days ago and I installed GTA V to play Single Player and Online too.

While I was playing, the laptop was overheating, I could even feel warmth from keyboard. I installed "Core Temp" program and tested CPU temperature and Cores went to even 90+ °C while gaming. In idle, while not working anything laptop is silent and temp is around 40-48 °C for each core. Is this a problem or just a regular thing, since I saw that my CPU i5-8300H can go to 100°C, and on Intel site they told that it is normal for CPU to go to 100°C without causing any problems. What should I do or can I do anything?

My specs:
CPU: i5-8300H 2.30GHz up to 4.0GHz
GPU: GTX 1050Ti 4GB

RAM: 16GB DDR4 2667MHz

SSD: 512GB

Re: Lenovo Legion Y530 Overheating problem

Download intel extreme tuning utility or throttlestop. I recommend intel extreme tuning utility if you never used such software because it is very simple and easier than throttlestop. Start with -100 (set core voltage offset -0.100 and click apply) undervolt and test. Then increase a little if everything goes ok with -0.100 till you find sweet spot. This will help for sure.

Re: Lenovo Legion Y530 Overheating problem

Thanks for help mate. I already did some research in between and found nice tutorial for CPU with ThrottleStop. So I did some undervolting and I started GTA V and temperature for 5-7 minutes didnt go above 75. I hope they will stay there for rest of the time while I am gaming. I am not able to test that right now so I'll do it later. Also I did undervolt my GPU with Afterburner and that went well too I hope.

If there is anything else after my test I will write it here. Anyway I set for -.125 for core and cache.

Re: Lenovo Legion Y530 Overheating problem

If you wish to, replace the thermal paste too. The stock one is crap

Re: Lenovo Legion Y530 Overheating problem

I dont think I can do it myself, because I will void warranty. I need to ask the place where I bought it, but thanks. I'll ask around.

Re: Lenovo Legion Y530 Overheating problem

Mine over heats but I undervolted to -1.190V then problem solved. I want to change the thermal paste to see if performance will increase. Will conductonaut work for lenovo legion y530? I'm not sure if the heat pipe used has aluminum materials in it.

Use kryonaut instead. Liquid metal too dangerous... If you move a lot especially
