Lenovo Legion Y530 SSD compatibility

2021-09-13, 15:11 PM

I just bought Samsung SSD 980, NVME 2.0, but when I install it, it did not appear in my laptop.

Can i know if the SAMSUNG SSD 980 not support lenovo legion y530? or lenovo y530 only support sata m.2?

I have never heard of an EVO 980 NVMe 2.0, they are either 980 or 980 PRO and NVMe 3.0 or 4.0

Please attach an image of the SSD

That Samsung 980 is OK and a good choice. Go to the link posted and all that's required is there:

https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools/

I take it the 980 is going to be the C: drive with windows on it, if so install the 980 in the second slot, migrate the files from your C; drive to the 980, then swap them over and format the old drive and use that as storage.
