Lenovo Vantage problem for Y540

2020-05-27, 1:32 AM

Almost all of the features and tools were removed for me all of a sudden on Lenovo Vantage (maybe it updated in the background). But before it happened I had the conservation mode on which keeps my battery from fully charging to expand its life span and now i can't turn it off because it was removed. So basically, my battery remains at 50%  and I can't turn off the feature that is causing it. I tried reinstalling and trying to update on the support website but nothing has worked. Has this happened to anyone else?

Lenovo Vantage problem for Y540

Well, let's try a few things. Go to the start menu and type "Services" and hit enter. Find the service called "LenovoVantageService" and pause/stop it. See if your computer will fully charge then. Let me know.

Thank for the reply! I tried both and left it charging for a while but it didn't go up a single percent. It was a good idea, i'm surprised it didn't work.

Hi

I think ImController is not installed correctly. Please try following steps to see if it works.

1.  uninstall Lenovo vantage service & Lenovo vantage from Apps & features of windows settings,

2.Open "Device Manager" --> Find [COMPUTER NAME] --> "System devices" --> "System Interface Foundation V2 Device" --> right click, select the popup menu item "Uninstall Device", make sure the "Delete the driver software for this device."

3.reinstall Lenovo vantage from windows store,

4.launch Lenovo vantage, the vantage service will be installed automatically

5. Download IMC from https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds105970

and then you can install IMC.

See if it works

Try stopping the service, setting startup to manual, and restarting if you haven't already.

If you have the option to turn on rapid charge, turn it on and see if it'll push past the limit - since you can't have rapid charge and conservation mode working simultaneously.

Let me know.
