Re: Lenovo Y540 Audio desync (Audio ahead of Video)

Guys, could you pls check on your end, what model of SSD do you have? Is it Hynix?

I've made clean install on another hard disk (HDD), then drivers from Lenovo site using bridge, and then updated using Vantage.

Sometimes after clean install, desync wasn't appeared immediately but after couple of hours, but there were always crackling right after the format. Now, I couldn't notice any crackling moment while listening music on spotify. Desync has also gone. I'll test it more.

The issue may be related to some kind of incompatibility motherboard or drivers with Hynix SSD. Installing on another disk gave me the best result without messing with settings (wifi power, battery plan etc). Crackling and desync just... gone.

I got the hynix SSD with 256gb and never managed to get it working without delay. 5 clean installs and 100 driver updates later i have still no clue and Lenovo keeps deleting my service requests without answering.

Would be great If the others could check which SSD they got. Doesn't explain why some of you can fix this via drivers or am i wrong here?

Quite shocking Lenovo doesn't do **bleep** about this and still sell this device.

Thanks for your time trying to help :)

Like I said in my post above, I also had the Hynix SSD and replacing it solved my desync/crackling.

You can test if your SSD is the cause of this by simply creating a 50GB partition on your 1TB HDD, install Windows on it and see if there's still any desync/crackling. If they're both gone, you know that the SSD is the cause and should get it replaced.

Very simple - you just open the back case and the NVME slot is exposed. All you have to do is unscrew the screw holding the SSD in place and put your own one in.

I'm not sure if Lenovo would offer a new SSD if you tell them this is the cause of the problem, but I guess you could try since it is broken hardware that should be covered under warranty...

I didn't replace SSD. I put my HDD to 2,5 socket and installed Windows on it.

I'm in contact with Lenovo support and I've written about the results.

can you keep us in touch if they reply? perhaps they can still fix this issue since it only happens when you've enabled the lenovo vantage hybrid mode.

Hi, today a new windows update has arrived. It seem to be a pretty important one, theres the possibility they fix the problem.

Im happy that your problem has fix in one part but still something wrong because my laptop work without problems

The SSD replacement coments are pretty tricky ones, i said just because my laptop at first has this problem but then i managed to fixit, even with the ssd that my laptop comes, who is a Hynix one.

You should install the program i gave you in order to search for some drivers (Iobit Driver Boost) but just try it with the actual installation.

If doesn't work anything, lets try to performe a brand new laptop setup. I mean, 1) Install the drivers that come with your pc on the DRIVERS folder and then (without internet connection), 2)complement with those who you found on lenovos page but not unistall anything, if it said you have a better version, canceled it, or if it let you, install it, dont unistall anything please (again, be sure internet is off). 3)be sure to install the power management as last step, 5) don't update through device manager, we want to keep the lenovos drivers!!! remeber that updating with this way will force your laptop to looking for new drivers in the windows data base, drivers that are universal!! so we want only lenovos driver 6) search the latest lenovo vantage app and update, 7) update your windows.

This is the most similar way i have to explain how i fix it. Im trying to explain you again just because i see you did changes to my suggestion and you add some new steps

Just remember i didnt, change anything strange or do some weird regedit changes.
