I can only suggest you to read my post with solution carefully. I explained everything there, just follow the steps I described. The solution I posted really works and I didn't have any desync problems since.

 IRST driver can be downloaded from Lenovo support page for our laptop. After you install it, you'll have "Source" folder in the path that I wrote in my post.

Re:Lenovo Y540 Audio desync (Audio ahead of Video)

I HAVE FOUND AN EASY AND DEFINITIVE SOLUTION FOR MY LEGION Y540-15IRH!

  1. Open the "Microsoft Store".
  2. Search and install the "Intel Optane Memory and Storage Management" app.
  3. Launch the app and go to the "Performance" tab.
  4. Disable "Link Power Management" and restart your computer.
  5. Audio should be fixed right now!

This solution I found worked flawlessly on my machine. I'm so happy right now. If you can't open the app or see the "Link Power Management" option, try installing the "Intel Rapid Storage" drivers from Intel's website. I believe you can disable this feature from the drivers too, without the app, but using the app is a faster solution. In any case, you can be sure this sound issue is related to the "Link Power Management" feature from Intel's Rapid Storage drivers.

@Anonymous1992

This seemed to fix the audio crackling issues I was dealing with, although I didn't have to install the Optane Memory app. I just installed the generic Rapid Storage Technology driver off Intel's website and turned off Link Power Management with the software that came with it. Thanks so much for this -- I've been struggling with this for almost a year now.

Re:Lenovo Y540 Audio desync (Audio ahead of Video)

I am the owner of the Legion Y540-17 with M.2 SK Hynix 256 GB drive. I struggled with desync for over a year, changed drivers etc. I read somewhere that it could be the fault of the disk and decided to change it. I purchased a WD SN 550 M.2 1 TB. And the problem was simply gone. Previously, after 5 minutes, there was a desync, now I even tested over 2 hours and nothing. It is a pity that Lenovo cannot plead guilty, they should replace these drives at their expense, they lost a lot in my eyes.
